The industrialist Herbert Liaunig is a keen collector of paintings, sculptures and other objects of art. He has a special interest in architecture. Liaunig knows about the impact of architecture on us. In the eighties, he financially rescued the Funder works, a timber-company. He entrusted Guenther Domenig and Coop Himmelblau with the task of rebuilding and planning additional facilities. He is also very largely responsible for setting up a sign pointing to the future with Tom Mayne’s new central building for the Hypo Alpe Adria Bank in Klagenfurt.
